Edible Pursuit at Brooklyn Brewery
In case you aren’t up on your Bloomberg news, Hizoner recently announced that July would be Good Beer Month. Taking the reins unofficially on the official affair is the recently formed The Good Beer Seal, a coalition of craft industry heavyweights — brewers, writers, owners — and the city’s best bars. We’ll be bringing you the details as they come out for July, but for now, it’s time to get your tickets while they last for the first event that’s been announced.
On July 8th, Edible Brooklyn will be teaming up with Brooklyn Brewery for trivia about a subject that’s trivial in no way: alcohol. For $20, you’ll get access to the Brooklyn tasting room and will be handed two pints of beer, a pint glass, and a sausage sandwich made by The Meat Hook. Edible Pursuit will be hosted by Rachel Wharton, a recent James Beard award winner and editor of Edible Brooklyn, and feature a panel including Brooklyn Brewery Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and Fort Defiance owner St. John Frizell.
The trivia will consist of four rounds of 15 questions each, on all areas of alcohol, spirits, beer, wine and just weird liquids left out to ferment. So study up on the properties of yeast and cocktails from 1809 for a chance at collecting limited edition beers, cookbooks, pickles and other deliciousness.
