Montreal bagels delivered straight to Brooklyn

Ever since Mile End Deli opened last month in Brooklyn Heights, it’s been clear to us that the proprietor of the Montreal-style Jewish delicatessen, Noah Bernamoff’, is just a little bit insane.

Luckily, insanity is often the mark of true genius.

Bernamoff has somehow convinced two of his high school pals to pick up bagels from the famed St-Viateur Bagel in Montreal every Friday at midnight and DRIVE the seven or eight hours to Brooklyn in order to deliver the freshest possible Montreal bagels.

The deli sells the bagels, but you can also preorder a dozen of your own ($20 for poppy seed or sesame) and pick them up Saturday morning from Mile End.

Visit the deli’s bagel site to preorder: http://www.mileendmontrealbagel.com/

Montreal bagels are the absolute worlds best. I think it’s a great thing what Mile end is doing, but they seem to overcharge and my favorite Montreal bagel shop – Mount Royal Bagel will also ship to anywhere for a more reasonable rate, besides which they are offering a superior bagel. Their toll free # to order is (1-877-LEBAGEL) What are you waiting for?
